I got my new computer yesterday.  Set it up with Ubuntu Linux (Plan B from last post), and added MythTV to it.  I choose plan B over A because I didn’t like the look & feel of Mythbuntu’s XFCE4 desktop.  It all installed well as expected, but the TV Capture card did not work and I’m currently working on the problem.

I know from what I’ve read, there are difficulties getting the Twinhan DVB-T (3028) card working on Windows, and I’m having difficulties compiling the drivers with Linux.  More in a few days, when I have another chance to work on it, again.

One way to learn about a given sub-system or area of computing is to encounter a problem like this to force you to research to solve the given problem.  The first phase of reading is to understand the problem, the second is to read-up on possible solutions, and finally to docuement the solution so that you can repoduce it later.
